~ EURO ZEROSCILLATOR UPDATE ~

~ EURO ZEROSCILLATOR UPDATE ~

2006-03-20 by Cynthia

We have discovered a couple of difficulties with the present mechanical fit of the
Euro Format Zeroscillators and have thus suspended Euro format shipments for a
week or so while we make the necessary adjustments.

1. The depth of the Zeroscillator in it's present form is too deep for the
Doepfer Euro Rack becuase it interferes with the Doepfer power distro card
that runs horizontally across the middle of the rackspace.

Note: This only affects Doepfer Euro Racks,
Analogue Systems racks are fine in this regard.

The Fix: We have designed a backplane right-angle card that shortens the
Zeroscillator by 1.5" inches, they are in the soup, and the boards should be
here and built within the next week or so.

2. The circuit board immediately behind the Euro ZO front panel is just a
tiny bit too long at the bottom, and interferes with both brands of racks.

The Fix: Our original PCB design easily allows for this adjustment,
we just have to file or mill the edge a bit more than we already are, and
mount the Vari-Synch pots in their alternate PCB mounting holes.

Most Euro ZOs will fit, (albeit tighthly) into an Analogue Systems Euro Rack,
but none of them will fit a Doeper Euro Rack properly until we make the
above adjustments. Thankfully these two issues are simple to fix.

1. Because of all of the case swapping, there has also been a lot of power
connector swapping. We sent the first units out with Doepfer 10-pin
power cables, but it seems that customers want the 16-pin Doepfer cables
instead. Also provision must be made swap over to the Analogue Systems
   power connector more easily.

The Fix: We are changing over to the Doepfer 16-pin power connector
on the Zeroscillator instead of the 10-pin, (and will impliment the version
with the plastic surround with the polarized keyway).

We will include two power cables so you can have it both ways.

Thank you to our Customers who have been so patient that last few weeks,
we needed the time to send a few units out, get some feedback, and then
some time to properly digest that feedback and design the solutions.
The upgrates are already underway, and shipping will resume quickly.

To those who have already received their Euro ZOs, we will contact you
in the next week to resolve these issues to your total satisfaction guaranteed.

There will be some delay of all format Zeroscillator shipments during this
brief interval while we focus on these quick adjustments.

Thanks for your support!

hello cynthia,
i'm glad that all these adjustments are being made
now, so when i receive my euro ZO, it will fit nice
and correct to my doepfer a100 rack!
keep up the good work,
best regards,
bakis.
