The RanDivide is truly a wonderfully uselful module.
It has a very high-frequency internal clock oscillator which
is great for dividing down into multiple rhythms.

I think we have about (5) of them remaining at present.

It has by far the hottest and most useful noise signal in the whole
Mod/Cyn line-up.  While it's two random gate outputs are
useful for many Source-of-Uncertainty type applications, we found
that our Staircase Window Comparator is actually far better for this
because it can generate four random gates with four counter-gates,
and you can introduce multiple noise sources to the comparators
(instead of only an internal one) for a much wider variety of
random types of signals.

The upper section of the RanDivide is a crude Divide-by-N type
of VC divider.  It's really great at doing those trills and screees
zipping through the entire audio range as a voltage controls the
dividing process, however we got many requests for something
a bit more musical with much higher predictibility at the very
lowest ranges like dividing by 2, 3, or 4 (as opposed to jumping
directly from Divide-by-9 all the way to Divide-by-31 and
instantly on up to Divide-by-114 and so on... for example).

Because high precision, low order divides are an absolute
neccessity for rhythmic music... we then concentrated on making
the multiple fixed divider series such as our Prime and Rhythmic
Divider modules...

I have a pair of RanDivide modules in my own system and love
them, however in addition to knowing that we can now make each
of these upper and lower panel circuits even better as their own
separate and dedicated function type of modules,
we can also now make the manufacturing of them easier
as well as lead-free for international ecological compliance,
(we ship to 16 countries!)

If you want capabilities like a Noise Ring, then yes a
Staircase Comparator and RanDivide or Gated Comparator
module and/or a Modcan Sample & Hold module does a lot.
We're actually quite excited to see what comes out of Toronto
in A-Series format, the new clock module from Bruce would
be great in A-Series format and the CV Recorder he's been
talking about sounds pretty cool too as long as he keeps the
resolution higher than only eight bits...
remember that we're big Modcan fans over here too!

(although I must say that when holding a fully-built MOTM
format Zeroscillator in one's hands, the format is rather tempting...)
