Just had to tell somebody and you guys seemed like the natural recipients. Saturday I went to Guitar Center here in Houston just to look around and because they are havin' some kinda blowout sale this month. I picked up a couple of units from an outfit called Electrix. I think they are a Canadian company. Anyway, one is called FilterFactory Analog High Order Filter, and the other is Mo-FX Time Synchronized FX. They are each 19", 2 space rack mount units with No wall warts, but nice internal power. They were brand new and cost 99.00 each. So for 200.00 U.S., I added 2 Waveform Modifiers, 1 mono 4pole/stereo 2pole,LP/HP/BP/Notch resonant VC filter, 1 Envelope Follower/ Random Voltage Generator, 1 Flanger w/ 3 band frequency selection which has seven different band combinations, 1VCA/Tremolo w/the same Frequency selection setup as the flanger, 3 dedicated LFOs, two of which have selectable waveforms, and one of which has envelope tracking and a nice frequency divider setup. All of these devices are individually or collectively synchable to midi clock, and the units sound great!! They even came with rack screws and spacers. Really good manuals. I bought Lexicon and TC Electronics pieces to the tune of almost 2000.00 each, and didn't get rack screws!! I've got a good mind to call them up and say "Hey!! Where are my rack screws?!!" My friend who put me onto these units said that the Filter Factory is getting hard to find because there was some sort of patent infringement litigation that forced Electrix to discontinue it, so they are drying up. The units originally listed for 450.00 each. The GC had stacks of the Mo-FX for 99.00 each. The Filter Factory I got came from another GC in California someplace. They work awesome with the Serge.
