Big knobs on older systems?

Re: Big knobs on older systems?

They look suspicioulsy like these :

http://www.banzaimusic.com/Fluted/

which I also use for my system.

The ones of top of this page are the smallest ones (they're really cute). Down below are the bigger ones. Their white pointers are fluorescent, which is handy in the dark.

Yeah, I had those in mind too...

Perhaps it could be something like http://www.alliedelec.com/search/productdetail.aspx?SKU=5430404 - it would match the Davies 1900 more?

Though it isn't striped on top.

Come to think of it I think I have 2 of these on a panel I've got at home. I'll check it tonight!

Yeah, probably. They're nice.

Indeed. The original serge ones had the stripe on top.
(hmm, what I'd just say that ? We both know it. º-º )

I'll take some photos of these knobs inbetween the 1900's on my system. Later today.

Attachments :

Somebody told me some years ago that those big knobs were PH-3035,
and I bought 20 pc then from a company named Action Electronics.
Unfortunately, they are no longer in business.

The PH-3035 is very similar to the Eagle knobs form Banzai,
only the skirt is slightly thinner, and diameter is 18mm instead of 19.
(the Mouser typically used on MXR and Dunloop efx boxes etc. are 20)

Yes, the Davies 1910 would match the 1900 much better, I agree.
They look really nice. I checked the datasheet, and they don't seem
to be much larger than the 1900 though ....
... looks a lot bigger on the picture, but according to figures:
    Diameter "C" 1900: 15/32" - 12mm 1910: 17/32" - 13mm
    (as mentioned earlier, the PH-3035 is 23/32" - 18mm)

I tried a quick search for the PH-3035, but it is difficult without
having the name of the manufacturer.

Ohhh .... hang on a second
In one of my boxes with Serge-stuff I found this:

So that is what PH stands for.

Searching for "Philmore PH-3050" went better.

    http://75.126.159.74/fluted-knob-with-tapered-skirt-knob-indicator-line-on-top
the uppermost knob of related products is the PH-3010
    ( http://75.126.159.74/fluted-knob-with-skirt-knob-indicator-line-on-top )
About 10 years ago I bought a secondhand Serge panel.
It came with some 3010 knobs. Perhaps some different
types have been used for the larger knobs ?
