Serge carry case cray5656

Don't yet even have my 3 panel system and I am already thinking of the case for it :-).

I am going to have an TKB and two more panels and I would love to play them live in concerts.

So I need an case which I can take on the plane with me and not in the cargo and something I can easily use in my studio without losing time by unscrewing it form the rack back in the case and so on when I go out with it.

Could you please say something about the design and the dimensions ... a drawing would be perfect :-.). Maybe more pictures.

Is it possible to fold the system and just put it in a case ?

How do you avoid "rubbing" screeching the sides of the middle panel if it folds ?

You had to make extra holes in the middle one didn't you ?

Does somebody else have ideas or a carrying system like I wish to have ?

I had Ken looking over my system a while back and mentioned how I loved
the Buchla case and the next minute he had made one!

So best to ask Ken about the measurements etc.

I'm just the lucky sod who ended up with it.

Its soon to be in the hands of a nice chap :-)

Hi rastco,

Ken Stone made the case in that pic. He might want to make another one? If not, you can read at Muff's site that I'm pretty hevily into cases. The one's I'm doing there are aimed at 3U formats, but I could make a folding case for your serge panels if you'd like?

I can do it without making any new holes in your existing boats. I wouldn't even need your boats. You could assemble what I made to your boats for yourself. FWIW, I'm not willing to *copy* the buchla design. (That belongs to Don, IMO. I saw an aluminum 200e clone which was nicely fabricated, but to me a ripoff of Don's work.) But I can do a reasonable variation on a foldong case which I think would be as nice. I've done such a thing for 3U already. If Ken doesn't want to make another, let me know. I won't take any money until the case is finished. I have a large stash of furniture woods to use. Do you have a favorite?

A year or two ago, I developed a very unique case for a member here, but we fell out of touch. Too bad, it's a cool idea, but really needs 6-8 panels (could be done with 4, but to less effect.)I'm adapting it now for 3U. I call it a *cable-chain* case. Think armadillo, or roly-poly pill bug<G>.
