Wow!

This is EXACTLY what I hoped SMOG would be...

thx so much for posting such a detailed explanation of a patch using some of
the 'lesser used?' Serge modules.

Re: My Pressure!!

2001-07-04 by Barry Michael

Thanks for tasking me. I learned a lot doing it, and now I have a format for it, so it should be easier in future. I still wish the damned audio files were easier to move around though. I have a real distaste for mp3s.

see ya,

Barry,
The files are appreciated, but you should note that I could not play them from my normal wave players because of the 24 bit format. I had to import the files into Logic Delta to hear them. Not everyone will have a 24 bit application available. MP3s may lose audio fidelity, but they are an efficient means of distributing sound "examples" through the internet.

Well I didn't want to add that to my other whinge.
I don't even have a player that can handle wave files let alone 24 bit.
I think you can get the gist of what is going on quite satisfactorily via MP3's.
I wouldn't otherwise have said anything though as I guess it is up to me to download and install a wave player.

John,

It's good to know you could even download them. Thanks for the feedback. Sebastian is having loads of trouble with Yahoo services of all types it seems, and these files are suffering in his downloads. I wasn't aware that there was anybody out there without 24bit apps. These files should work in Wavelab, the new version of Sound Forge, Acid 2.0 or 3.0, Or any seq./audio app such as Cakewalk 24, Cubase, Logic, or Protools. I will however, create MP3 versions tonite, using Acid 3.0, which does a pretty good job. There's just too much high end rolloff for my taste, like those little disk recorders. Little above about 12K. But They are a lot smaller, and everybody uses them, so I guess I should get with it. My desire was for people to hear what the patch Really sounds like, but if most people out there have Serges, that might not be necessary. If you havr the Synth, then anything close, and you should be able to extrapolate from that what is happening. I'll let you guys know when they are done.

Thanks, Barry
