Osc's only have linear FM or also exponential FM?

Osc's only have linear FM or also exponential FM?

2009-02-12 by roelelec

Hi all,

I have a question.
I know that the NTO and PCO have linear FM, but do they also
have exponential FM?
One source mentioned this.

And how can you tell?

Thanks.

Cheers,

Roel

of course they have exponential fm too!

its their '1volt/oct' inputs, their 'vc f' inputs and their 'in portamento' inputs.

Normally, in my experience that is, you use the 1volt/oct for the
connection with the keyboard, in this case the TKB.

or any 1volt/oct cv/gate keyboard.

the TKB does not have an output that plays 'normal' notes.
you only get a KV output that goes from 0 to 5volts divided into 16 plates.
that is far from the 'normal' western scale we all know. (its 5 octaves divided into 16 steps)

if you want to play 'normal' melodies you have to scale the TKB output.
that means: connect it to the 'vc f' input of a serge osc, or pass it thru an attenuator before connecting it to the 1volt/oct input.
