Serge Users' CD submission

Serge Users' CD submission

2008-11-24 by kkonkkrete

Hi all ---

I've posted an mp3 copy of the track I have submitted for the Serge
Users' CD at the following location:

http://share.ovi.com/media/kkonkkrete.public/kkonkkrete.10001

It's my first recording with a Serge. Five overdubs using just a
Creature. I added some reverb and did a little mastering in software.
Hope you like it.

Regarding the cover: I'll have some time in a couple of weeks to put
together several alternative covers so that the community can decide
which they prefer....

Cheers,
Kkonkkrete

Thanks a lot for the encouraging feedback, especially coming from some
of the people whose demos finally helped persuade me to take the
plunge! I'm going to try something in warmer tones next ...

Re: Serge Users' CD submission

Thanks this is probbaly the best drone thing i ever did.
The first versions had to much bass in it.
But last night i did cut some low out off it with my Paris setup.
Gonna post it in a few hours to Hanz.

Cheers,

Dennis

Questions about certain Modules

2008-11-25 by verstaerker

hello group

in a few days (ca. 2 weeks) i'm getting my first Serge Synth - the Animal

i'm reading in the last days everything i can find about the Serge
modules - for instance i red about the Smooth Generator it can create
Square Waves and act as a VC Clock - how would i patch this?

thx and greetings

Re: Questions about certain Modules

2008-11-25 by matthew carpenter

Cool -- I'm excited for you. The Animal would definitely be my desert island synth.

Have you seen these 3 pages re: the SSG? Look at number 4:
http://www.serge-fans.com/wiz_SSG1.htm

You just patch CYCLE to IN and take the output (a square wave) from that cable.

You're welcome. Yeah, you can do all that and more with the Smooth Stepped Generator. Easily one of the most versatile and patch programmable function cells in the Serge catalog.

look for the Gold Book and the old Serge manual.

Also the old catalogs.

don't have th elinks handy right now, sorry

Also look for a long SSG compilation of different uses in past threads

Re: Questions about certain Modules

2008-11-25 by darkstr1746@comcast.net

I have a copy of the Rich Gold book and a catalog from the Oakland shop and a price list from 2005 that will make you burst into tears. LOL
Even though I don't have a system anymore I'm not sure I want to part with these for some odd reason. But if I come to my senses someday and let them go I'll post up to the list. Personally I found the old catalog to be extremely helpful when trying to sus out the functions of some modules.
kind regards

You probably fooled around with MY Animal that I shipped to Paul (of
schneidersbuero.de) for checking and "marketing purposes" as I
suspect you (verstaerker) are a German living in Berlin...

Paul told me that there is also another one who is now "infected" by
the Serge virus...

Have fun with your Serge

"Fleet captain" Frank

P.S.: If you own a certain number of Serge panels you are allowed to
be called a "fleet captain" (ask John Duval or Rex Probe about the
exact number............)
