Attenuators on the Serge
2008-03-15 by Harold Tique
Greetings Frank and SMOG folks,
The c/m Module(s) are the best for this. It contains two
independent passive attenuators. Aslo, as an added feature, the
upper "gate" voltage is a regulated +5v out that can be 'switched
in' as a bias voltage who's level can then be preset by one (or both
of the attenuators) as a fixed V reference offset.
The SQP Sequencer/Programmer was the designated controller for the
ADSR so that it's individual 'segments' voltage/time relationships
could be set up and then manually selected or sequenced through.
The 1/v oct IN (also called "VC all" in later STS versions)is a
summed 'Total Time' VC input for dynamicaly 'shrinking and
stretchng' the agreggate envelope shape while retaining the
individual segment shapes and sustain voltages as setup on the [SQP].
As you know the Serge has built in, to most functions, input control
voltage attenuator/inverter/scaler pots.
The list of current system function blocks that pertain specifically
to CV attenuation:
CMX
C/M
SPRC
PRC
ACPR
BUFF
PRO
As you can see, there's plenty of 'valves' to choose from --
Sincerely,
