M-series general question

M-series general question

2008-02-20 by fhserge

I think that it would help if someone is able to quickly summarize IF
and WHAT "noticable features" have been changed in the well known
modules and what has been changed "under the hood".

Obviously most people are interested in the "new" modules (as I am)
but the new "old" modules are interesting as well (VCF, SQP, QUAN etc).

Yeah, i'm always where the heat is! I like Serge too a lot, i was brought up with Serge and Buchla modulars. They were the first modulars i encountered and they are still my favourites!

To get on topic i recall reading that the VCOs were upgraded.

"The two oscillators (NTO & PCO) have had both the saw wave core
along with their triangle and sine wave output waveforms modified with
newly selected audiophile grade ICs along with special frequency
compensation networks added and adjusted for the best sound I have
ever experienced in a music oscilator. Evenly focued throughout the
entire audio spectra with extremly smooth detailed harmonic definition."

the groovy new "blue" LEDs represent the "cool" factor that Rex has been experiencing this year. LOL
as in "freezing his ass off" in -20 below weather. hahahaha

    Hi Frank, all,

The latest improvements, now included in both the M-class modules and
the venerable Shop Series, involve changes and additions to circuit
topologies, in frequency compensating networks, and in component level
advancements and part tolerance enhancements. The comments regarding
the specific changes to the oscillators go into this in a bit more
detail but that's really all we can say about that.

    Have fun!
