PS4 or PS6 for a four panel system?

PS4 or PS6 for a four panel system?

2006-10-13 by riluttante

Hi list members,

A while ago I placed an order for a four panel system (Blue Voice, CV2, Soup Kitchen, TKB)
and Rex at STS initially suggested I get a PS4 power supply with it. He recently came back to
me and suggested I get a PS6 instead. The PS4 costs $450, the PS6 $650.
Aside from the higher price, I'm a little concerned the PS6 might be larger and/or heavier
than the PS4. This is intended as a touring system, for better of worse, so I'm trying to
squeeze as much functionality into as compact and light a setup as possible.

I'd be very grateful if anyone here could offer a suggestion on what to buy.
Will the PS4 be able to handle this system or do I need a PS6?
Is the PS6 heavier or larger than my original choice?

Thanks very much in advance

Thomas

Does anyone perhaps have the current prices and dimensions for the available STS power
supplies?

Instead of deciding between a PS4 or a PS6 for my four-panel system, I'm considering
ordering both a PS2 and a PS4, so that there's plenty of power in the studio when required,
but having both would also allow me to travel light with just two panels and a PS not larger
than necessary.

Thanks!
