some ASR noodles/jan-hinnerk

To remove all doubt as to how computer lame i am, i have to report that i can't/don't know how to put up sound clips of the Martian war chants or anything else for that matter. Sorry Jan : ( I don't use computers for any part of my music making and the one i do have for web access doesn't have any kind of midi or audio input so i can't stuff it full of my inane voltage wanderings for the list to hear. Maybe that's a good thing. LOL Besides, it appears that interest in patch posting or discussion at any level has reached an all time low on this list. To wit: i put this patch up last week and there has been only one response..... yours. I guess everyone is either on vacation or they've trades in their modulars for software clones or big screen televisions and large campers. Oh well

My excuse is that I’ve got a new baby boy and haven’t had time to check the patch out. I’m the one who started the thread a couple of months ago after reading the idea on SDIY. I *do* have access to computer stuff so as soon as I have time to patch your patch up, I’ll get an audio recording made of it and available to interested parties. Thanks!

This is interesting. What do you use for recording?
In fact, that might be a question for everyone on the
list. I started out with reel to reel, now I tend to
use Kyma(not exactly a system intended for multitrack,
but it's all I got in that regard).I'm too broke to
upgrade my recording system to a Protools or Logic
based system, plus my G4 is a 350mhz.
I still have a Presto reel to reel. Made in the early
60s or maybe late 50s. Floor standing, actually has a
throttle, and this huge meter, along with a tube
mixer. Itstill powers on.
What kinds of effects does folks here tend to employ?
Again, for me Kyma, using patches that tend to maybe
in the family of live sampling.

I never had any doubts about how computer lame you were... : )

So how do you get your stuff to a producer? Can you burn a CD? Or do
you use DAT?

Maybe you can burn a cheap CD with a few sample tracks & give it to
someone who can convert & upload it for you.

LMAO!!!.... thanks john!!...............but you did get me thinking. I'm running WindowXP Pro and i think it has a program to extract audio tracks from a CD to build your own custom CDs. Maybe i can burn some clips on the Masterlink and put them in the computer that way. Hmmmmm..... of course, it will take me months to figure this out.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
