3 Panels for Sale

3 Panels for Sale

2003-12-06 by Blake Wilson

friends:

i've decided to sell three panels that are not getting used as much
as they should.

all prices include shipping and packaging in the continental US. for
foreign buyers, plan to add approximately $75.

all panels were purchased new from sound transform systems, oakland,
1997-1999. all except the tkb have full documentation/invoice from
sts including receipt and erudite messages from rex (i simply don't
have any docs on the TKB for some reason). all in excellent, near
new condition and have seen home studio use only. everything
(lights, knobs, etc) works perfectly.

first on the block is a TKB. you know what this is. i paid $1400;
the new fall 2003 price list has it for $1850. i am offering it for
$1100 shipped in the US:

(warning: my pics are huge)

second is a neat "voltage" panel featuring some cool sequencing,
clocking, and trimming/scaling modules:

SPRC, PRC, ACPR, QUO, CLK, BLOG, SQP4

in December 1998 this was $2220 from sts, and runs $3095 on today's
price list. i'm selling it for $1750 shipped:

last up is a fine mixer panel for larger systems and features a
custom "master level" module that was created specially for this
panel, along with some other custom jobs. here is the layout:

PRNV, PRNV, C/M (w/ 1/4" phone jack inputs; both upper and lower are
exponential for audio), EQ, EQ (both with 1/4" phone input jacks),
QVM, QVM, Custom Master Level.

this panel features stereo input with gain via the preamps and stereo
imput w/out gain via the C/M to get outside signals into the serge
domain. i configured the EQ and the mixers for mixing (obviously)
and then outputting to the outside world. each QVM is hardwired to
the master level module (the left mixer is hardwired to the top
master attenuator, and the right to the bottom). it is patched in
the following manner (of course, you can do whatever you want, but
this is how i've used it the majority of the time):

the outputs of the right mixer are patched to the aux ins of the left
mixer. the outs of the left then become your master outs. you
achieve master volume control over both mixers by patching a control
voltage (typically the variable output from a scaling or dual
processor) to the VC input on the master level module. with the turn
of one knob, then, you have stereo master volume control. of course,
the mixers feature VC and panning over each channel. i typically
patched the stereo output of the mixers to the stereo EQ and then out
to my mixer/recorder/whathaveyou, thereby achieving a master stereo
EQ as well.

in April 1999 this cost $3115; prices were slightly higher for the
custom jobs. based on today's prices, the price without the custom
work should be $3440 and i'd add another $300 for custom work. yours
for $2500 shipped. i don't think there is another serge "master
level" module in the world, but i could be wrong:

i'd be interesting in trading for a minimoog voyager, fwiw.

special discount if you buy all three: $5100 shipped. this is $250
less than the combined total of $5350 for the three.

thanks for the bandwidth, folks. this will go public in a couple days
if they don't sell. and feel free to make offers.

blake wilson, your SMOG moderator.

What panels do you have for sale? I have good references on AH and
Ebay and might be interested.

Email me in private.
