CV scaling

2003-02-10 by jan-hinnerk.helms@t-online.de

Hi,

as far as I understood it, all Serge VCAs (2VCA, UAP, XFAD) are only
usable for attenuating audio signals, except for the Active Processor
ACPR. So is the ACPR the only way in the Serge to attenuate Control
Voltages via another Control Voltage? Or am I missing something?

And BTW: What does the Control Voltage Interface CVI do? I can't find
this neither in my catalogue, nor on the Serge Modular Planner, nor on
EGRES, so does anyone have pictures or graphics of this module?

Best regards,
thanks in advance
Jan-Hinnerk

It's a bit off topic but you can effect cv's with other cv's using the
Extended Range Filter - in the low setting.

Yes ... the ACPR is currently the only VCA that's DC coupled so it can
modify a control voltage.

Rex has a sheet describing this one... you're right, EGRES overlooked it!

the CVI is a simple 3 unit module featuring 8 channels of 1/8" or 1/4" to banana conversion, with an associated LED for each channel. great for checking voltages. i modded mine from 1/8" to 1/4" when my studio needs changed (not as easy at it might seem, btw). also, rex says its not recommended for AC usage. I haven't tried so i can't comment (i use a preamp and/or c/m for this). otherwise a fine utility type module that get used quite a bit.

HTH,

blake
