Rich Gold, RIP

Rich Gold, RIP

2003-01-13 by ginorobair <GRobair@primediabusiness.com>

Just heard from Scot Gresham-Lancaster that Rich Gold passed
away last week. If you have the Gold book, you probably already
know who he was. But Rich's work went well beyond
Serge-related stuff. He was a pioneer in the field of interactive
computer music among other things. Check out his Web site, if
you have a moment: www.richgold.org.

Thanks for that link Gino. That is indeed very sad news.

There I was recently pouring over The Gold Book for the third time in
anticipation of my first panel order, never having the slightest
inclination that one of the authors was the same guy who gave me
hours of pleasure as an adolescent with Activision's "Little Computer
People" on my Commodore 64, and was also responsible for helping to
bring the Mattel Power Glove to the masses (anyone ever use one of
these to control their Serge?)

I am sure these and his other many achievements will not be forgotten.

Gregg.

This news is sad indeed. Thank you for the link - I'll be adding it to EGRES
in the next update.
A multifaceted guy!
