6 volt systems

I've heard that Serge stopped using 6 volts as part of his power
supplies at some point. Anyone any idea when this happened?

I replied to this yesterday, but my work account sent it to Ken only,
not the group. I'm sure that many of you know this, but for the
record, Serge Modular started phasing out the +6 volts with the
design of the Series '79 modules, such as the NTO, WAV, DSG, TKB,
etc. All of the VCAs and filters were designed to use only +/- 12
volts as they were all designed around the little low-noise "clone"
circuits. These were identical precision VCAs that have two small
circuit boards stacked with the matched transistors epoxyed together
to equalize the temperature. Most of the modules requiring the six
volts were phased out of production in the late 70s, but a few
remained available, such as the Ring Modulator and the SSG, if I
remember correctly.
