!!! new serge modular planner is up!!!

the link is http://www.ticalun.net/sergePlanner/configurator.aspx

let me know if you have any problems. i've tried the site with
explorer and communicator and it seems to work with both. it looks
and functions better under explorer because of explorers better
compliance with javascript, style sheets, etc. the app is written in
microsoft's .net technology so i suspect it will always be explorer
biased.

right now it only allows for singe panel configurations but multi-
panel is on the way once i'm sure that i have all the single panel
functionality people want.

i am missing alot of the graphics, if you have any of these and could
get them to me asap i'll get them on the site asap!

i'm not sure when i'll get around to writing a faq but i think it is
pretty self explanatory. in general, you select the location for the
module to go, the module you want and press update. the reset panel
button clears all the panel and the clear module button removes the
module and replaces it with as many blank spaces as the module was
wide. all modules are "left" oriented. in other words, if you add a 3
wide module to location 2, it will occupy 2,3,4. the panle renumbers
itself with what you have available and if you add/replace/delete a
module the spacing show expand and contract to the correct size. if
you select a location that currently has a module, if the new
selected module is the same width it will just replace the one there.
if it is narrower, it will replace the module and add empty spaces to
the end of the rack. if you try to add a wider module, if there are
available blanks to the right of the current module, it will take
those to accomidate the new module.

questions, comments, bugs etc. send to moog@... . enjoy!

Hi James,

I've read that you are still looking Serge modules picts. I've got or made
most of them in Photoshop. Tell me which type of file (.JPG, .TIF, ...) and
what modules you are looking for.

Hope I can help you

the first round of bugs and corrections has come in and so have a
bunch of images. thanks to john loffink for providing many of the
missing images. here are the modules still outstanding:

CVI
CMX
SQP6
SQP8

other than that, they should all be there. if you see some black and
white scans of images and you have color available, i'd appreciate
them. there might be another call for rather large images in a bit.
there have been several requests to have the option of viewing panel
configs in a larger, patch sheet type size besides a configuration
preview. i think this is a good idea but it will come after such
things as xml uploading and downloading of configs, multiple panel
support, preset panels / shop panels, and some screen element work
like the ability to exchange modules in place. thanks for all who
have looked and sent info. enjoy.

    James,

Where you able to get graphics for the CVI/SQP6/8? I may have
some time this weekend to generate these missing panels - although
I am not sure if I have a pic of the CVI.

    Regards,

These sort of images can be generated by cutting and pasting. It's
tedious but works. I have an image of the UPAP (4 wide) created this
way if anybody needs it. I also have a "patch sheet" for the only
standard model Serge shipped, the Series 79, three panels including the
    UPAP.
