Quest for Raytheon Knobs...

Quest for Raytheon Knobs...

2002-05-24 by cyndustries

Hi Group,
I too am interested in the larger "Raython" knobs, however so far
I've reached a dead end...
The quest is Not looking too good at the moment , as I contacted
Raytheon after an exhastive searc of their website turned up
empty. Here is what they said...

Dear Cynthia,
Raytheon Electronics has never made these devices. There
was at one time long ago, a Raytheon entity called Switchcraft
that to the best of my knowledge made handles, jacks, and a
host of other electronic items of this nature.

Here is what I have regarding Switchcraft:

Switchcraft Company sold to the Cortec Group, Inc. They provide
a widerange of electronic components, including jacks and
plugs, switches, connectors, jack panels, power cords,
jackfields, cable assemblies, patchcords, test equipment face
plates, handles, EAC Power receptacles, moldedcables, and
other.
Have inquirers call 713-792-2700 or go to
http://www.switchcraft.com/

I hope this helps you.

****************** End Quote**********************

Switchcraft didn't have any knobs on it's website and a search
of the word Knob and Knobs turned up empty...

Anyone have any ideas? Perhaps removing one knob for an
underside inspection might yield a missing clue to it's origin?

Best to all,

Cynthia

Good news and bad news.

Bad news first. Willy's does not carry those knobs at all (at
least that is what the sales droid assured me of).

Good news is I found a source. Bisco Industries has the knobs.
They have a minimum on their orders, so I had to order quite a
few. I estimate I will have in the order of 25-30 knobs that
I won't be needing, so if any of you is interested in getting
some please let me know. The price per knob is $0.83, I may
add a few cents to cover my order shipping costs.

Let me know if any of you are interested. I will be receiving
these knobs sometime middle of next week.

Regards,

Bill

i should have pointed out that i found mine in a box on the floor in what would clearly have been overstock/discontinued/sale/surplus/close-out status.
