Re: FREQUENCY SHIFTERS

Re: FREQUENCY SHIFTERS

ok, i´m also interested in f.s. I heard some nice freq shifters demos
online, like the one that m.pulver (i think) put it on AH with a bode freq
shifter... and the modcan is very interesting also, but...

applications with frequency shifters?
I read an article from gordon reid talking about using freq shifters to make
drum sounds, something like using it to create bass drum hits...

any idea how can it done?
and others applications also, instead of 'ah a nice fx!' thing...

thx in advance
Igor Medeiros

This is where searching the archives can come in useful.
There was a fairly exhaustive chat about Frequency Shifters a while back.
Try reading messages 120-174.

I hope Chris McDonald is reading this: in the album "Astral Currents"
by Telomere (CM), I hear plenty of sounds that seem to have been made
with a freq. shifter. Since the album credits name the Serge
synthesizer as the sole source of sounds, I assumed that such sounds
came from a Serge FS. However, in the SMOG forum files you mention
that you "wish" you had a Serge freq. shifter. So my querie is: did
you use a freq. shifter at all in your album? Was it a Serge? Let us
know. BTW, this album is full of wonderful, soothing music to play
after a long, stressful day.

and how. after "planetary unfolding", chris' CD is the best all serge record ever. available here:

one of chris' tracks will be featured on the new serge comp, btw. and a track from PU is on the old one, as well! the best of both worlds!
