Awfully quiet here. Compared to the dotcom or Doepfer forums, this is
one desolate site. Here's a topic for discussion: FREQUENCY SHIFTERS.
Up until recently the one to beat was the Serge or the original Bode.
now we have the Bode clone from Analogue Systems, and Encore
Electronics and Modcan are coming out with their own. I own an
analogue Systems one, and it has a very smooth sound, but, to be
honest, I can get similar quality effects from my Big Briar MF-102
(although within a narrower spectrum, of course. And yes, I know the
MF is only a ring modulator). The Doepfer is somewhat harsher, and I
havent' had a chance to listen to the serge, EE or Modcan. Any
comments out there?
