Not to disparage the awesome M-class, but if you have the resources
available for the examples you offered, why not consider...
The Animal = oowey goodness, feedback, FM madness, insane modulation,
boxed/unboxed rhythm, and tones which can be thick, mega, distorted,
plucky, strange, radical, even downright pretty (one you left out)
It's a great way to get to know the core Serge palette, and you can
add M-odules to your heart's content as you grow more familiar with
what floats your boat. I believe it would be comparable in price to
the other systems you mentioned.

i'd like to second that consideration and also remind that with any shop panel such as the Animal you'd also get more panel density; each M-odule gives you 7-inches worth of module space (with a total of 14 for the boat), but you get 16 on a shop panel..
