Any comparator will do it, not just ncom. Also the DSG and some of its
cousins, setting the VC switch to RISE or FALL will modulate the duty
cycle of the GATE pulse wave. OUT 2 of the VCM bottom section delivers
pulse waves that can be modulated by VC or the knob. And the SSG CUPL
output compares SMOOTH & STEPPED outputs; you could do something screwy
with that.
