Re: New Serge Users CD, new self

2008-09-02 by Dennis Verschoor

I think people should submit in mp3 format online.
Afterwards we can send wav files / cds to the one who is gonna master all the stuff.

Cheers,

Dennis

Also, I'd like to know-- what is the best possible uncompressed format we can submit?

Hi John

I would at first not edit your submissions.
Perhaps it can be on the cd without any edits.
So why waste time now on that?

Dennis

One other thing I forgot to ask about is. . . what are the running time costrainst of submissions?
For the sake of and out of respect for the person who is going to delve through all this stuff, It would be considerate of me to make sure that I'm not submitting overly long compositions that would have to be edited down to meet running time constraints. Also it would cut down on the length of listening time which could be considerable.
I can do the "downsizing" myself before submission

Hi John

I would suggest to send it to Hans.
He was gonna do the release off the album.
But if someone else got any better idea's please jump in.

Is there anyone on the list who actual can master stuff?

Kkonkrete doing the cover design sounds fair.
Who else is gonna tribute to the album?
FHSerge perhaps?

I wanna give this track and maybe make a better mixdown off it and a bit shorter.
But i still wanna be the rightfull owner and use it on any album release at any time.

Or perhaps keep it long like that if there are not that many people who provide tracks.

Cheers,

Dennis

I'm gathering a couple of submissions from the hours and hours of compositions and sketches I made before I had to sell my system. It's a tough choice choosing between the truely whacked out and the more spacey melodic stuff. I have no choice but to do these in hardcopy CD format.
Where are we supposed to send our submissions?

i can help with the layout (i assume this is going to be a maximum of
four sides -- i.e. a single folded sheet).

looking forward to this ...
