I respectfully disagree! Listen, I'd love to boost the price for this
reason, but it wouldn't be justified. Putting several modules on a
single panel wouldn't cost more (at least not much more, if anything
would be a better way to say it) than putting the same modules on
several faceplates. Plan B uses the same photo-sentivie aluminum
technology as STS does for its panels. We're already paying that
premium. Punching holes in one as opposed to a few would actually be
easier. It would not use the Serge 'open book' format. The jacks
would be hard soldered to a PCB mounted parallel to the faceplate, as
would the panel knobs, switches and LEDs. Every wire increases the
chances of a defects. Our goal would be to do this without wires,
with everything hard-soldered instead.
I assure you it would run less than a similarity-equipped Serge panel.
