Berlin - George M.i have both serge gear and the expressionist. the expressionist puts out a strictly quantised voltage at 1v/oct. there is no need whatsoever to involve your Quantizer module.
however: it sounds like you're having a grounding problem between the expressionist and your serge. rex, in fact, offers a special mod to the expressionist that will alleviate these problems. what you need to do is make sure you've got proper grounding via the ground lug on your power supply to your expressionist. one way to do this is to connect your serge ground to your mixer as prescribed by serge, then simply plug an expressionist output into any input on your mixer to establish proper ground. try this and let me know if you are then getting the correct 1v/oct voltages.
