Subject: [AH] MKS-80 power supply

I found a MKS/MPG-80 at a good price and it is 240V. Is there a way to
swap its power supply for a 110V? Replace the transformer?

If not, looks like a job for a $20 step down. Additional bulk to make
live sets harder to setup.

Imagine my saddness as I plugged it in to 110 to find it didn't do
anything. My first analog polysynth, sitting here staring at me
.. silently.

Seems I also have to build my own 6-pin doodad to get the PG-KS connection
going.

You'll have to check the schematics to see if there is a multi-tap
transfomer in the MKS-80 in which you could configure the input of
the transformer for 110V or 220V/240V

If it's a fixed 240V transformer, then you'll have to see if Roland
still has the 110V version in stock

You would need an external 110V to 240V *STEP UP* transformer

-Yes, the Transformer is a fixed primary. Roland had it in stock last year.

  It's a pretty easy swap.
