i remember it being as simple as hookingup a jack to the mixer board?

what's this "bi-trimal" then...........

I did mod a JP6 many years ago for two outputs, but you really need to put a
buffer stage (simple Op-Amp) so that it is matched to the normal output, but
it is simple as that though.
