Hello...

I would like to find out what price range the Jupiter-8 sells for (with the
Encore Electronics MIDI installed)... I´ve heard that some has sold for as
much as $2500.... is this true????.

Henning.

On ebay one just sold for $2700 and there was one a few months back that
sold
for $2876. Those were with Encore Midi upgrades. I was going to auction
off
one of my Jupiter-8's, but then decided I would probably install a Midi
retrofit before selling it. They seem to fetch a better price that way.
I'm
also considering adding midi to my remaining 3 JP-8's. The problem is while

I'd rather go with the Encore upgrades, they don't seem to support Velocity
or Aftertouch coming into the Jupiter, while the Kenton does. Adding that
extra expression is one reason I want a midi upgrade over the current DCB
interface in the first place.

the Pro-DCB adds aftertouch and just about everything else in midi-dom.
Just patch a CV cable into the filter cutoff input and voilla! Of course,
you must control with a sensitive keyboard that Tx AT c.c.

be aware that the kenton velocity function is a "mono velocity"
control. It applies the last incoming note's velocity to all voices.
