[Roland_Jupiters] Roland 106 on Craigslist

[Roland_Jupiters] Roland 106 on Craigslist

2008-10-10 by Scott S.

http://columbiamo.craigslist.org/msg/864468290.html I am no
relation, do not know this guy.

He's asking USD $600. That might be a bit high, compared to completed
auctions on Ebay. I see completed ones selling from USD $200-$400.

I am about 15 miles from where it is, so if anybody is seriously
interested, I can go over there and check it out.

One of the last analogs, it has MIDI, 6 voice polyphony, etc.

Price seems a bit high to me... a Juno 106 might be able to get that if it was in very good condition, and maybe more with box and manual. These days so many of them are being re-sold the market is flooded and prices are low.

Yes, if you were desperate to get your first analog, it might be a
good choice, but probably not at that price. That was very popular,
and www.synthmuseum.com shows that 40,000 of them were built in four
years, so they should be plentiful for some time. By contrast, it
shows 2,000 Jupiter 8's made in 4 years, but they were something like
USD $8k when new. I had read somewhere else that it's estimated a
little over a thousand exist.... but how the hell can they guess that?
Everytime one dies or gets damaged beyond repair, it's not necessarily
reported anywhere.
