Subject: [AH] NEWS FLASH : Newbie posting gets bitten on ass :P Hello people... OK... it looks like no one wants my Jupiter 4, and fair enough, given the criticism of the pricing *hids head in shame*. I went and checked out the current street price of the Jupiter 4 on VSE (http://www.vintagesynth.org/roland/jup4.shtml) . They quote it being $450 US, which now is a little over $900 AU. I think that this would do me very nicely. Now, I check out www.zzounds.com and find out that their price for the Korg Electribe EA-1 (which I ideally want) is... $299.95 US. Now be very very conservative and take $99 USD off the new price for an example second hand price of $200 USD. In my mind, $450 USD is a bit more than $200 USD. The Jup4 isn't in excellent top condition, but, $350 USD is still better than $200 USD for a used EA-1. And remember all the $$$ prices I quoted were in AUD (AUstralian Dollar), which at the moment is roughly 2 AUD = 1 USD. I'm not having a cry about the fact that no one on this list wants to buy my synth. I'm not having the "im a newbie so go easy" cry (I'm a writer for Australia's biggest computer hardware site, and am trained to recognise newbies at 50 metres :). I'm just explaining my logic. If no one wants my synth, hey, I'm cool with that, I just thought that as a member of this list I'd take the consideration of asking if there is anyone who might want/need a synth like this, as the list has helped me with queries in the past. If you want to discourage this activity, feel free... I haven't been on this list for very long... maybe 2-3 months. But I do like it, and have seen people posting FS items etc. I guess I'll try the boards, or *bay if I get nowhere. Cheers, Hugo "I'm going thru a black HEY capricorn day!"
