Could be useful as a starting point... Problem is that it's expensive stuff to play around with too much... Hope this gives you a start. Chris

I just tried UCmk-PMuseumBright-coolSe with the type media set as Ilford Heavy Paper. I know it is a matte ink curve, but it worked very well with the harman gloss. Anyone else tried other options on the Harman FB gloss? Definately a paper worth trying. I have based it on the Epson Semi Gloss. Steve

I am printing on an Epson 2200 and using Crane Silver Mueso paper. Everything goes fine until the very end of the print process. At that point, the printer slows to a crawl and it also leaves some excess ink on the paper margins. It does not do this on other papers, such as the Moab Entrada. Anyone have some ideas. Hi, Suspect this could be a paper feed problem (not uncommon with the 2200 and thicker art papers) Try cleaning the rollers (feed a thick sheet of paper with isopropyl alcohol or windex with ammonia on the middle third through a number of times, alternating sides) HTH Paul --- In QuadtoneRIP@yahoogroups.com, ifotogu@... wrote: > > I am printing on an Epson 2200 and using Crane Silver Mueso paper. > Everything goes fine until the very end of the print process. If it turns out well would you be willing to share it with another 2100 owner? thanks, Richard -- http://smallfield.vze.com http://photos.smallfield.vze.com (Photos web site) http://warkworth.vze.com/ (Warkworth photo essay) http://picasaweb.google.com/rsmallfield/ (Recent work) Friendship is like peeing in your pants - Everyone can see it, But only you can feel the true warmth of it.

Steve - if you do get there, I'd be really interested to get a copy if you're willing to share. I don't have a densitometer, so it's difficult to cook my own profiles. Thanks. Chris

I have recently got myself a densitometer, so I am figuring out the best way to work with it, so it will probably be a few more days before it is finished. Steve

For information, I've been printing very successfully (from where I stand) on Harmon Gloss FB A1 using the following settings with an Epson 2100. Paper type = Premium Glossy Photo Resolution = 2800 Speed = bi-directional Curve 1 = UC-EEnhMatte-cool 80% Curve 2 = UC-EEnhMatte-warm 20% Advanced Ink Limit (Shadows) = -50 Gamma (midtones) = 0 Dither = Ordered. I know that I'm using matte curve sets, but it's producing strikingly neutral, un-bronzed with clarity of detail and shadow that I've never achieved on any other paper. So far I've been printing A5 tests, but I have no concern about printing at A3. Image sources have ranged from scans from Fuji Neopan 400 on a Nikon 4000 ED, Leica M8 (iso 1250) or Canon 5D (iso 1250). I'd be interested to see how much better I could get with dedicated curves... Best Chris

Hi Chris, I'm willing to try this paper on a UC 7600. As you're using the EEM matte curves, which black ink are you using (PK or MK)? Thanks, Paulo At 06:38 8/10/2007, you wrote:

Paulo - weirdly enough I'm using the photo-black ink. I had to reduce ink density to -50 to get them looking right. All a bit rushed at the moment (and STILL can't get A3 to print properly - but plan to spend a bit more time doing things more scientifically. Chris, thank you; I'll try this paper as soon as I get some samples. Seems like it can be the answer to printing on the UC (K2) machines without heavy bronzing. All the best, Paulo At 19:26 8/10/2007, you wrote:

I'm brand new to using QTR (OSx) Stylus Pro 9600 UC (Originals). You refer to Curve1 = 80% and curve2 = 20% is that the settings for each of the Tone Curve sliders H, M S or is it referring to something else? Wills

Steve, Any progress on your profile? I've got some samples of the Harmon paper I'm itching to try with QTR. Thanks! -Byron --- In QuadtoneRIP@yahoogroups.com, "skefford_1" <keff.antispam@...> wrote:
