Yellow in the highlights

Yellow in the highlights

2016-09-27 by paulkohl9@...

I am trying to clear a yellow stain from my light tones in Quad Tone K7 Special Edition inks. I have done several paired cleanings from the Epson driver for the correct channels. Is there a purge file to use?

Paul,

Be really careful with paired cleanings as they stimulate the head which builds heat. It would take 70 paired cleanings to bring fresh ink to the print head. So it's not a way that is at all recommended for flushing channels, etc...

Yellow is a very strong pigment and the best way to clear it from your printer's ink lines, ink gamers, and any agglomerated material in the ink channels or just behind them (and to do so efficiently) is with PiezoFlush and the INIT FILL procedure. The second best way is to use Piezography inks and the INIT FILL procedure. Both of these pull with strong suction. Another way that is less expensive (wastes less ink) is to isolate the yellow channel on a customized QTR InkSeparation target and print out as many sheets only through that channel until it disappears. It does not have the same suction for agglomerated materials. But, it can be effective in most cases. There is documentation on how to do these at our tech support site.

But whatever you decide, do not run more than two powerful paired cleanings in any one session on a late generation Epson printer.

re-installing the InstallQTR2.7.7.pkg will fix the permissions.

Anyone else?
