New Epson P800

New Epson P800

I just joined the group. I would like to ask if there is going to be support for the new Epson printer...

In my view, the question is when, not if.

Roy has always supported new Epsons, sooner or later. The P800 is nearly the same as the 3880. Apparently the only real impediment to telling QTR that it is a 3880 is that the paper paths are now different, as there is roll paper but no rear feed (as I understand it). If you research this forum, which is always a good idea before you post, you will find recent reports to this effect.

So you are saying it's already supported as it's the same as a 3880? I thought the ink sets were different. New brighter magenta or some such? If it's not supported. It would be good though if someone actually doing the development would say whether its supported or not officially. Whether it works or not officially as a 3880 and if not when one might see it being supported officially.
Thanks

No, I wasn't saying that at all. All I am saying was in this post, which is easily findable via searching:

As far as curves support, it's anyone's guess as to whether the 3880 K3 OEM QTR curves will work well for the P800. You'd expect that some adjustment would be needed, as the big change is the new SureColor inkset with its higher dmax, but that's just idle speculation on my part.

I have a P800 and it is not currently supported. The Quad3880 can almost work with it, but the different feed paths is where it comes unstuck. Roy is looking into it - I know he would be assisted by anyone in the San Francisco Bay Area who had a P800!

Thank you Roy!! Thank you for releasing the new QTR.
Works great on the P800.
