Using QTR Create ICC for Non-QTR printers

2009-12-27 by ScottH

I have a question about using Create-ICC for creating ICC luminance profiles for Non-QTR printers.

I use a printing service to print monochrome images on color paper. I believe they use Lambda printers. The output from neutral RGB images is wonderful however I notice luminance differences especially in the shadows.

I have used the Create-ICC method to correct images when printing from Photoshop to my inkjet but it's not clear how I would use this when sending images to a service.

The service wants my images in AdobeRGB. Would the steps be:

1. Create the ICC profile (which to use QTR-Create-ICC or QTR-Create-ICC-RGB).

2. Convert the RGB image to the ICC profile.
3. Assign to AdobeRGB.
4. Save the image and send to service.

Thank you

Scott
