You can use QTR on an ethernet in several ways. If the printer or print server has a fixed IP address you can just enter the IP number during the install script. However many setups have dynamically set IP addresses -- i.e. they are assigned and may be different later. There's a setup called Bonjour that can handle this automatically. Most of the newer Epson printers do support this although you may need to enable it on the printer front panel. If you can "see" the bonjour printer in the OSX Print&Fax dialog it's very easy to use it for QTR. See the last page of the Tutorial.pdf for more details on this. My office is very small ... so if at all possible I would like to use ethernet to get to my printers in the next room. When I tried to use QTR I found no Ethernet option. And have since noted it is set up for USB. Is it possible to use ethernet?? >> > >> > >> > Also I noted - "Attention to Mac users of Photoshop CS4 and Lightroom 2.1 under OSX 10.5 Leopard There are color management problems with B&W printing with both Epson ABW and QTR" I am using cs4 with osx 10.5 ... is this still possible ... what kind of color management problems are we looking at. I updated everything for this project. My old mac died and my old photoshop was the first CS. >> >> >> Hello Michael, QTR can only be used as a USB printer, no firewire or ethernet. I'm still on CS3 so can't answer the CS4/10.5 question although it seems to be well documented and with solutions.
