R1800, Epson Ink, and Kirkland (Costco) Glossy Paper

2008-01-27 by Alan Tochterman

I am brand new to black and white printing, as well as new to the
Quadtone RIP software.

I am not yet sophistacated enough to develope my own curves but did
come upon the following:

Using Matt Chapin's curves for the Hahnemuhle Pearl paper, I was able
to produce a very satisfying print using both of his curves in
splittone mode and with the gloss optimizer using the OEM inkset.

For the highlights and midtones I used an 85% cool and a 15% warm tone
and for the shadows 100% cool.

I also reduced the gamma to -10, but that had more to do with my
particular print and not the curves themselves.
