moving Epson profile to QTR and intro.

2007-10-29 by Frank Jay

Hello all,
Newbie to digital black and white using QTR. I have been printing black only with consumer printers for several years and never new I was using a technique that has a name, BO Printing. It only made sense to me to use black only when printing black and white after I saw my first black and white print come out with a tint to it. Prior to digital I did photogrpahy since 1968 with black and white film, my own development and printing. Opened up a wedding and portrait studio, did custom black and white for "art" photographers, (nudes) then one day spent 26 hours in the dark room printing up about 700 5x7's for a local business taking only Marlboro and hot dog and Yoo Hoo breaks. I never went into a darkroom again and never smoked a Marlboro again. I guess that day I treated my lungs like rental units. That was 1978. Went with color, and stayed with color until I went digital about five years ago. I sell about fifty prints a year and hope to sell more when I retire. If not,
who cares. Anyway, just an intro being most groups like to know who they are emailing with. I live in NJ.

I am happy to be back to my first love ,black and white photography. I will leave color for my flower macros and my dye ink prints that I work with water and pencils.

My question is, finally...I just learned how to install and use profiles this weekend and now want to know how to move the profile for the Epson DoubleSided Matte Paper into the QTR. I have it stashed in Windows/System32/Spool/Color, or close to that. I use that paper for my practice prints to proof contrast , tonal range and or color. I have no clue as how to move them around and don't want to experiment because it took hours of reading and askng questions and alot of help from others and I don't want to mess it up. . Any help will be appreciated.
  thanks
