I'll agree with you, Bruce.  I can make some simple curves using a
densitometer and K3 ink for the 2400 printer but when it comes to "split
tone" curves I get lost.  I don't understand how to create or load a curve
for the ink positions, i.e., Photo Rag Warmtone curve.  The toner curves (
TC-Cool1.raw) I see have me guessing too.  I really like the QTR Create ICC
feature and have been using it with Epson ABW.  Now I wish to create some
curves in QTR from scratch without fiddling with an existing curve until it
looks OK but not really understanding what I just did.

Both the help in QTR and the excellent User Guide by Tom Moore are very
helpful but are pretty basic in scope.  There's so much more to understand
and picking up bits and pieces from this list is kind of frustrating.
Perhaps there is some basic information outside of QTR that I need to
understand (like color theory or some such subject) in order to fully use
QTR.
