David, I used duotones (duo/tri and quad)
before using QTR to help with metamerism. Toning helped as opposed to very
neutral b/w. It works very well but not nearly as well as QTR for that
purpose. However, for what you are using, its probably the only
answer.

This is not possible with QTR. It works from a single B & W channel.
You would need to use selections in Photoshop and then convert to
duotone and then to RGB and print as a color image.
