Milt, If you want to find out if it is the inkset or your workflow that is the problem, do the following - Set up a blank 5"x7" canvas in Photoshop and fill it with total back. This should read 100% when you read it with the eyedropper tool, in a greyscale 8 bit space, gg 2.2. Now if you print this swatch out and it gives you a good max density your inks are ok. At that point you need to evaluate how you have your file set up OR how you have QTR and the curves for it set up.
