Right, or with Photoshop you can set up a canvas contact sheet by going to Automate-contact sheet II and importing a folder of presized files to distribute on whatever canvas size with dpi you want to use. You will need to set the number of rows and the number of prints in that row but its easy. I have't used it, but is the ps package printing feature useful for large things? The presets are all for small sizes.
