About the confusion of what inks are being used: I bought the new STS matte black to compare a few weeks ago—yes, it is denser, and slightly warmer—I'm getting 1.72-1.75 on Hahnemuhle PhotoRag. However, It would be nice if MIS labeled the bottles to indicate the change. My printed invoice lists it correctly, but if I didn't mark the bottle before opening I would have no idea which bottle of matte black is was which. It makes it much more important to properly label your inks when you get them, and when you refill your cartridges. One thing that has made this nice for the 1430 are the easy fill keys and capsules from InkJetMall. they are so inexpensive that I have 4 r 5 sets loaded with different combinations of inks I am testing.
As the MIS-usage: There is also still some fuzziness on just of how many different formulations are actually out there—possibly three? Is there any way to know for sure?
