Re: [QuadtoneRIP] QuadtoneRIP direct to plate

2014-03-12 by Alan Vlach

Stig,

I too am printing directly onto KM73, but have been printing after exposing the plate to an aquatint screen. I've been extremely pleased with my results but would like to eliminate the screen. Any particular reason you are using matte black. The plates don't really require that kind of blocking power.

Hi David.

You will have to ask mr. Messec on that one – my guess is he´s working with
something like ImageOn – but I’m not sure. I’m printing directly on Toyobo
KM73 – but you’ll have to drop by Copenhagen for a workshopJ

Yep. 2880 dpi (file 360/300 dpi) unidirectional, matte black, ordered.

Stig,

Is that what Messec in New Mexico is using? Have you taken his workshop?

If o, I'd like to know what your take on it was.
