RE: [QuadtoneRIP] Re: gray gamma 2.2 or gray-lab.icc for 2200

Will - thanks - that helps a lot! I have found the instructions that come
with QTR confusing, so your description of your work flow was just what I
was looking for. I have made several prints with the K7's that were very
impressive just converting to gray scale and saving as a tiff, but I'm
looking to improve the way I work.

Thanks again!

Bob

Bob

I've been using the K7's on a 2200 for a month now and have been getting
good results using QTR GrayLab as a working space. I'm on a PC, so when
I'm ready to print I convert to QTR GrayMatt and save as a Tiff and then
open in QTR gui. Select the paper curve, dither option and 2880 (leave
the Ink Limit and Gamma at zero). Another option rather than converting
to QTR GrayMatt is to leave your image in the QTR GrayLab space and set
the Gamma to +4 or +5 then select paper curve, etc.
Neither of these two work flows is perfect but either will give you a
taste of the K7's capabilities.
For what it's worth, I've tried using Gray Gamma 2.2 as a print space
and not had good results. I realize GG2.2 is the recommended print space
according to the instructions, but for what ever reason it just hasn't
worked well for me.
