Re: [QuadtoneRIP] Re: MIS No longer providing replacement cartridges for Epson 3880

2013-05-25 by Paul Roark

Based on Bob's good recommendations, I've occasionally needed to get carts
from InkJetCart.US and have always been happy with them.

At
http://store.inkjetcarts.us/epson-pro-3880-refillable-cart-systems-p5529.aspx
they
do have empty 3880 carts -- about $280 for the set. The 3800 carts are
here:
http://store.inkjetcarts.us/epson-pro-3800-refillable-cart-systems-p4599.aspx
for
$250.

Based on what we've heard, and assuming these carts work well, it looks
like the 3800 and 3880 should make excellent Eboni-6 and Eboni-6 + cool ink
(e.g., HP) printers. I do not, however, have any profiles made
specifically for these printers. On the other hand, I suspect my 7800
profiles will port to this class of printer with not too much work. It
might be useful to compare ink limit settings between the two printer types
at some point.

For many of the wide format printers I don't see empty carts. I have had
good luck with MIS empties for my 4000 and 7800, and they are somewhat
cheaper than the InkJetCarts' prices.
