RE: [QuadtoneRIP] QTR Create ICC

Create-icc takes an I1 Measure File as input. It takes the name of the file
from the command line. If you just click on the executable, it doesn't find
a name and quits right away, hence the behaviour.

A Measure File is a text file with a specific format. You can use the
spreadsheet called curveeval.xls in the files section of this group to
export a Measure File based on density readings taken into excel. Xrite's
Toolcrib or xkey utilities can be used to import density readings from an
810 into an application like excel.

If you don't have excel you could also use the MeasureFile.csv that I also
uploaded to the files area. It's a comma separated value file (text
editable). It's not as convenient to edit, but quite doable.

You'll have to convert your 810 density readings to L* (Lightness) values as
required by create-icc. My spreadsheet will do that or you can use Bruce
Lindbloom's companding calculator that's available at:

http://www.brucelindbloom.com/index.html?CompandCalculator.html

Good luck

Ah ha, I see the .pdf file now and it looks like it'll only work with the
eye-one, right? It looks like it's a drag and drop sort of set up too.

Where is QTR Create ICC and are there any instructions? I see it in
the eye-one folder but when I double click on the .exe file something
appears and the disappears very quickly. I don't see it anywhere in
the gui. I have an X-rite 810 but not an eye one. Does that make any
difference?

Thanks,

Tom
