Model 24 Heisenberg Generator

Model 24 Heisenberg Generator

2007-03-16 by cray5656

Hi Peter.

Just want to say how much I love the Heisn Gen, it gets used everyday :-)
It is way ahead of my Serge Random Source for stepped and smooth
wackiness :-)

Your products are always brilliant.

Ross

hello Peter, Ross,
i agree! i use my model 24 all the time and although
it is somewhat difficult to tame and preddict (but
that's the point, right?), it adds this all-important
chaos to my scapes.
Excellent!
best regars,
Bakis.

I would like to ask, if the statistical distribution curve of Stepped
Random output values is straight? (I am not sure about the
terminology in English.)

Best regards

Re: Model 24 Heisenberg Generator

2007-03-26 by (i think you can figure that out)

The M24 utilizes what's known as wide-band random distribution. How that's done is
outlined here:

http://www.ear-group.net/M24block.jpg

But we did introduce some rules to make it the way it is, which bent the distribution a tiny
bit. Again, I reserve artistic licence to adjust these intruments to improve musicality. Not
tryin' to design lab rats here! That'sa large part of the beauty of micro's - you can make
these sorts of adjustments.

However, both the Stepped and Smooth aides use the same ransdom source, the same
internal algorithm. they perform indentically in this regard.
