PLAN B analog blog

I've redrawn the original faceplate of the Stereo Balanced Output 
Processor to remove some features I found to unessessary in 
the prototype design (namely the VC level attenuation pots), and 
combine all features of the three submodules that made up the 
three part model 18 functionality.  I've also included the original 
channel routing switches, which will enable that channel's output 
to be routed to the headphones alone, the main outputs alone or 
both the headphones and the main outputs.

This will be the basis of the poll, which will determine Model 18's 
fate!

Please note - this module as seen will run in the $300-$400 
range.

While I personally prefer the ergonomics of the all-in-one design, 
this headphone cueing feature is the real attraction to me, as it 
would be quite useful during live performances. I realize there are 
other options (i.e. outboard mixers) to achieve this capability, but 
the seamless integration within the modular would be very welcome. I 
would appreciate the inclusion of the cueing switches regardless of 
which panel layout is selected.

P.S. Why do you find the VC Level attenuators irrelevant? Are you 
assuming that channels will always be gated via positive envelopes?
