ELF LFO tracking question

ELF LFO tracking question

2009-05-03 by speerpeter

Added by Peter Grenader:

This problem is due to the fact that I have not yet updated the product page...it's not your fault, nor the module's.

There are two trim pots on the M37. One, the trimmer closest to the outside of the module, determines the symmetery of the waveform. THis one is adjusted at the factory, and the only indication you;ll need to know if it's fallen out of adjustment is if the frequeny between to drift quickly.

to put it right you'll need a scope. Set the M37 to triangle, look at the resultant triangle output and turn the trimmer until the rise and fall times are equal.

The other trim pot adjusts the sensitivity of the VC input's attenuator. this is where you set the 1v/oct tacking. Insert the output of a midi to CV converter into this input, turn the PANEL attenuator to full CW and adjust the trimmer until the LFO tracks. ABout three octaves is what you can expect.

original post:

Hello! I have an ELF LFO that I love, but one that does not track 1v/oct (no matter what the VC Freq knob setting). Is there a way for me to make adjustments toward that end--and if so, what should I do? Is there a trimmer I should be looking for?--or should I send it in for repairs?

Thanks!
