TKS clones?

TKS clones?

2009-03-29 by Christopher Jacob Recording Device

Hey Peter,

do you ever think you might build a CV interface for euro other than the milton? I'm jealous of whomever it was that snagged that touch plate you sold a while back I wish there were more things like that available in eurorack format... I might have to buy a Serge.

Yeah, I've seriously been considering getting a TKB and the Make Noise Format Jumbler...

Agreed! If you look at the sizable Eurorack market (in terms of the
large variety of modules available across numerous manufacturers)
you'll see there's a severe lack of performance interfaces for these
systems! On numerous occasions over the years, I and many others have
brought this to the attention of the community but no one seems to be
listening. I think many people really want to interact with their
systems in other ways other than with sequencers and keyboards -
especially for performing artists. Dieter was once working on a touch
plate interface years ago, but unfortunately nothing ever became of
it. Maybe those of us that are interested in these performance
controllers are in the minority, but I've got to believe there's a
decent enough market to make it viable. Just my two cents.

Kindest regards,
John

hello

I agree with John totally,
always I have been wonder why people love ribon and it is done
and why theres no TKB like device around
I have ribon and it gives a lot for performance
I cant even imagine what TKB would do
all those cv posibilities just in point of touch (btw
this is the best thing on ribonn punktual change,
very different that just turning knob)

but why I am wonder, as there even no SERIOUS stereo output.
and I am talking about this from long time.

in fact TKB and ribons shows power of voltage controled synths/modules

is this that expensive to do?
may be there will be some people agree and order
limited edition or something, desperation calls

best

dieter doepfer made a prototype sometime ago -
http://www.doepfer.de/a100tkb.htm

"Insiders will know that there have been many suggestions and discussions since we announced the touch sensor keyboard more than three years ago. Unfortunately the discussions did not help us to focus on a final design as there were too many contradictions in the suggestions and we did not see the thread running through the story. In the meantime we have built three different prototypes of the touch sensor keyboard and two prototypes of the normal keyboard with moving keys. Now we started a new approch and hope it will satisfy all customers: as for many other projects we support now a modular concept, i.e. the keyboard and the additional functions (like sequencer) are separated units. Consequently the user is able to decide if he wants the touch sensor or the standard version of the keyboard and if he wants to have the additional features (like sequencer) available. In the following the new approach is presented (at the end of this page the former concept is still available but this is no longer valid). "

but no touch sensor yet.
